We recognise that the people and organisations working in the advice sector face huge pressures. Through grant-making, the Community Justice Fund (CJF) seeks to ease current financial pressures, but we are conscious that additional types of support can help to consolidate the impact of grants.
We developed our Organisational Support Programme for organisations funded by the CJF. It is a holistic package which includes:
- management and leadership training;
- expert consultancy support; and
- small grants to help free up the time necessary to engage fully in these activities.
Management & Leadership Training
We have arranged for the Legal Aid Practitioners Group to adapt and extend their highly regarded Certificate in Practice Management to support CJF-funded organisations. Not only has the programme been revised from the ground up, but they have also added a full leadership module run by the Cass Centre for Charity Effectiveness and a new communications module run by the Legal Education Foundation’s Fiona Bawdon.
All trainings are delivered remotely (via Zoom) over the course of six months, allowing all to take part regardless of their location. A full brochure can be downloaded here.
In addition to the training, we are also able to provide specialist one to one consultancy to help organisations develop some aspect of their work. As a guide, this could cover:
- management support;
- strategic planning;
- financial planning;
- communications; and/or
- fundraising or organisational change.
This is provided by expert consultants like Vicky Ling, Matt Howgate, Fiona Bawdon and Rachel Hankins, who have considerable experience and knowledge of the sector. The consultants can help develop or review a strategy and provide regular support to ensure effective implementation.Skip to navigation
